Supported Configurations
The Base Station provides a wireless solution for a wide variety of small
networking environments, including these three supported configurations:
❑ A Wireless Network Sharing Internet Access
❑ A Wireless Network Communicating With an Ethernet Network
❑ A Wireless Network Sharing Internet Access and Communicating
With an Ethernet Network
Each configuration is described below.
Sharing Internet Access
The Symphony HomeRF Base Station connects to an Ethernet-ready Internet
device, such as a DSL modem, cable modem, or ISDN router, to share Internet
connectivity with each computer on the wireless network.
Figure 1 illustrates an example of this networking configuration. The diagram
shows a Symphony HomeRF Base Station connected to a cable modem with
an Ethernet cable.
