Installation Procedure

Step 5: Connect the Cables

1. Identify the location at which you intend to mount the unit.

2. Connect the grounding wire to the 5054 using the Faston plug on the metal case, next to the power plug.

3. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port.

• If you intend to connect the 5054 to a hub, switch, patch panel, or PoE power injector, use a straight-through

Ethernet cable.

• If you intend to connect the 5054 to a single computer, use a cross-over Ethernet cable.

4. If you are not using Active Ethernet, or you want to connect the 5054 to Active Ethernet and AC power simulta-

neously, attach the AC power cable to the unit’s power port.
