PROVA BOARD PLUS+
Description
PROVA BOARD PLUS is a durable, lightweight panel made of
high-density extruded polystyrene core (XPS) that is
reinforced on both sides with fiberglass mesh and protected
with a waterproof cement coating. PROVA BOARD PLUS
panels are attached directly to the framing studs and provide
an ideal bonding surface for tile and stone installations in wet
areas where a waterproof substrate is required.

Typical Applications
PROVA BOARD PLUS is designed for interiorwalls, ceilings,
and tub surrounds in wet areas such as showers, rest rooms,
health clubs, and pool areas.
Suitable Substrates
Attach PROVA BOARD PLUS directly to the framing studs.
Maximum stud distance: 16” o.c.
Installation
Cut and dry fit the PROVA BOARD PLUS to wall studs or
ceiling joists. Apply a 3/8” bead of PROVA-SEAL to each stud.
Fit the PROVA BOARD PLUS into place. Leave a 3/16” joint
between intersecting sections of PROVA BOARD PLUS. Screw
the PROVA BOARD PLUS panel into the studs using PROVA
FASTENERS spacing each fastener 12” apart and ¾” away
from PROVA BOARD PLUS edges except where the fastener is
bridging the edges of two adjoining panels. Whenever two
panels abut, a generous 3/8” bead of PROVA-SEAL should be
applied to both panel edges prior to fixing the panels to the
wall/ceiling. Use a 2” putty knife to scrape excess PROVA-
SEAL from the seams prior to installing the fasteners. After all
panels are installed,

ensure that all seams and joints are properly filled with
PROVA-SEAL and smooth out any excess with a putty knife.
Tile can be installed immediately after the PROVA BOARD
PLUS is installed. (Please read detailed PROVA BOARD PLUS
Installation Instructions prior to installation).
