TILE UNDERLAYMENT
-FLEX
PROVA-FLEX is a durable, lightweight underlayment that provides crack isolation protection on cement slabs and an easy-to-install, labor saving alternative
to cement backer board on wood substrates.
Our unique design features an impermeable polypropylene sheet (fabric) which bonds thin set mortar to the bottom of PROVA-FLEX Tile Underlayment, and
a top netting that ensures a superior mechanical bond with the cured thin set (holding the tile to PROVA-FLEX). Sandwiched between the netting on top
and the non-woven anchoring fabric on the bottom is a regular pattern of hollow studs. The bottom fabric (laminated to the bottom of PROVA-FLEX Tile
Underlayment with a polyolefin-based adhesive) neutralizes the stress caused by multi-directional lateral substrate movement – protecting the tiled
surface. We call this SHEAR STRESS CONTROL .

Eliminates Tile Cracking
PROVA-FLEX provides a separation layer between tile and substrate. And the one ply, non-woven polypropylene fabric (sheet) neutralizes stress by allowing parallel
substrate movement without damage to the tile flooring. It also offers superior point load distribution and is incompressible during tile assembly to support heavy loads.
Equalizes vapor pressure
Air channels beneath the PROVA-FLEX Tile Underlayment remain open to
allow moisture in substrate to evaporate.
Polypropylene material
Impermeable against other building chemicals.
Easier to install and lays out flatter than polyethylene.
Workability
Tough yet pliable to bend around corners and projections without breaking.
Even in very low temperatures.
Easy to install and cut with a knife or scissors.
Unique profile design plus inter-woven polypropylene netting material works to
increase surface area to provide stronger bond between underlayment and tile.

** We do not recommend or warranty PROVA-FLEX for outdoor use as exterior installations can pose numerous installation challenges. We recommend that PROVA-FLEX be used for interior
installation in dry or limited water exposed areas only.
