How does Mahogany age over time?
Mahogany will age similarly to cedar when placed outdoors. It is one
of the most dense outdoor woods and will last a lifetime. Over time it
will turn gray if left untreated.
Can Mahogany be stained or painted?
Absolutely! Just like any other outdoor wood, you can use stains, paint
or wood preservative.
How does the nial mount to the post?
When shipped it includes a self threaded screw. You can pre-drill a
small hole into the top of your posts then let the self-threaded screw
do the rest.
Will this size nial t a larger post?
Yes, if your post measures a true 4 inches this will t. You can still use
this nial on a 6x6 post, however it might look a little too small. You
can mount the nial to a at wood post cap that ts a nominal 4x4
post and it will also look very nice. Protectyte makes a at cap
(FTB0358M) which can accept this nial.
