Full Body Harnesses

These inst ructions are intended to m eet t he
Manufact urer’s I nst r uct ions as required by
CSA Z259.10-06, ANSI Z359.1- 2007 and
OSHA 1926, and should be used as part of
an em ployee t raining program as r equir ed by
OSHA.
WARNINGS
Only Capit al Safet y is aut horized t o m ake
repairs or m odi cat ions to this equipm ent . Any
att em pt t o m odify or repair equipm ent by t he
user w ill void t he warranty and could cause
injury or deat h.
I f a full body harness is subj ect to an im pact
load or has arr ested a fall, it should be
rem oved fr om service and destroyed by cut ting
the webbing int o pieces. Even if the im pact
indicators on t he harness do not appear to have
deployed, the harness m ust be rem oved from
service, dest royed, and replaced.
Users of this type of equipment should have a rescue
plan in place (on fi le) and the means necessary to
implement it immediately in the event of a fall or other
emergency.
Any alteration, misuse, or abuse of this equipment will
void the product warranty and could cause injury or
death.
Do not use combinations of component, subsystems,
or both which may affect or interfere with the safe
function of one another. Be certain that connecting
devices are compatible and that other elements of the
PFAS are safe to use and compatible before use.
Do not expose this equipment to chemicals which
may have a harmful effect on the materials used
to construct it. Be especially aware of caustic
environments, or those that contain high levels of
organic acids or bases. If you are uncertain about the
safe operation of this equipment in any environment,
contact Protecta for instructions.
DONNING THE HARNESS
To don the harness, proceed as follows:
1)
Grasp t he harness
by the dorsal D-ring
( 6) and shake unt il

body. Make sure
that t he buckles ( 4)
are not fast ened.
2)
Slip on the shoulder straps ( 1) one at a tim e
as if you were putt ing on a j acket . Be careful
not t o t wist t he st raps.
3)
I ndividually adjust each shoulder strap (1) by
pulling or r eleasing the slack end so that t he
sub- pelvic st rap (8) is rm ly in place under
the butt ocks.
