4 Using the WAHryTone
To adjust the various different sounds of the WAHryTone you need the Prostage App. You can download it for free
from the Apple Store (iOs) or Google Playstore (Android). With the app you can adjust the so-called parameters
and save presets. In addition, your mobile phone serves as a tuner (see chapter 5).
If you own an XTMpro, XDS or XLS system from Prostage, you can also program the WAHryTone using the System
Manager software (see chapter 6).
In addition, all parameters can also be controlled with MIDI Control Change commands. (See Appendix A for the
listing of CC commands.)
4.1 What Exactly is the Prostage WAHryTone?
The Prostage WAHryTone is foremost a WahWah designed with a fully analog signal path. The effect is generated
using an original Fasel coil. Instead of the potentiometer, the WAHryTone uses a so-called VCA. This is basically a
potentiometer that can be controlled remotely.
The WahWah effect is a filter, which raises the mids and lowers the bass and treble. The special effect is achieved
by shifting up and down the frequency of the resonance peak.

WahWah Effect (Filter)
The Prostage WAHryTone not only allows you to control the WahWah effect, but it also lets you adjust all the
important values - so called parameters - that affect the sound of the WahWah and the other effects. The
parameters are further explained in chapter 8.2. You can, for example, make a preset with an original Cry Baby,
another preset with the XY Signature Wah, and so on.
The WAHryTone can further be used as a volume pedal, as a tremolo and also as level-, contour- or treble-booster.
And it has a tuner, which is displayed in the app or the Prostage tuner & text display.
4.2 Basic Functions of the WAHryTone
The WAHryTone can store up to 128 presets. These are recalled via the app or via MIDI Program Change commands.
In Appendix B you will find a list of factory presets.
The WahWah effect and the volume are controlled either by an expression pedal connected directly to the
WAHryTone, or an expression pedal of a MIDI foot controller. The MIDI expression pedal must send "Control
Change No. 7" (volume). When using a Prostage Foot Controller, it is recommended to use "Hi Res" instead of
Control Change No. 7, as the resolution of the expression pedal is eight times greater. The WAHryTone receives ex
factory on all MIDI channels (omni).
