3.4.3 Downloading the Sample Program to the Processor
Note: The key switch on the front of the ControlLogix processor must be in the REM or PROG
position.

1 Ifyouarenotalreadyonlinewiththeprocessor,opentheCommunications
menu,andthen
chooseD
OWNLOAD.RSLogix5000willestablishcommunicationwiththeprocessor.Youdo
nothavetodownloadthroughtheprocessor'sserialport,asshownhere.Youmaydownload
throughanyavailablenetworkconnection.
2 Whencommunicationisestablished,RSLogix5000willopenaconfirmationdialogbox.Click
theD
OWNLOADbuttontotransferthesampleprogramtotheprocessor.

3 RSLogix5000willcompiletheprogramandtransferittotheprocessor.Thisprocessmay
takeafewminutes.
4 Whenthedownloadiscomplete,RSLogix5000willopenanotherconfirmationdialogbox.If
thekeyswitchisintheREMposition,clickOK
toswitchtheprocessorfromPROGRAMmode
toRUN
mode.

