Calibration requires a compatible shutter cable and a Bulb Ramping / Bulb HDR Assist cable to be
connected. See Promote Control Setup section for more information on how to calibrate this value.
If you change the camera model for Bulb HDR or Bulb Ramping, this value will need to be recalibrated.
Changing your camera lens will not affect this setting though - so simply changing your lens will NOT
require recalibration.
The calibration process takes just a few seconds, and is therefore recommended to be performed before
starting a Bulb HDR or Bulb Ramping session.
8.3.26 Auto Power-Off
Default: 5 min
Specifies the maximum idle period before Promote Control powers off to conserve the batteries. Choose
"Disabled" to deactivate Promote Control power saving.
8.3.27 Mirror Lock-Up Delay
Default: 2 sec
Specifies the time interval to wait for the camera to stop shaking after raising the mirror. Increase this
value if your camera tripod does not provide adequate support for the camera and lens.
NOTE: Using the "Mirror Lock-Up" feature requires the optional shutter cable. See Connections
section for more information on connecting a shutter cable.
8.3.28 Automatic Exposure Mode Control
Default: No
By default, Promote Control assumes your camera exposure mode is set to "Manual" whenever you
connect it to Promote Control. Change this setting to "Yes" to tell Promote Control to use the USB
connection to reset your camera exposure mode to "Manual" when Promote Control is connected. This
feature is disabled by default because it is not compatible with all cameras.
On some cameras, including Canon 5D Mk II, 5D Mk III, 7D, 60D and some others exposure mode may
only be set with a manual dial and cannot be set electronically. If Promote Control fails to change your
camera exposure mode, it displays an error message and you should return this setting to "No".
