This mode requires the optional shutter cable. Please see Connections chapter for details.
Usage
1. Switch your Promote Control to the "Manual Shutter Hold" mode.
2. Set your camera exposure mode to "Manual".
3. Set your camera shutter speed to "Bulb".
4. Connect the Promote Control to camera via an optional shutter cable. No USB connection is required
in this mode.
5. If you prefer to hold the button down for the duration of the exposure, set "Control" setting to "Hold
Down" (default). If you would like to press and release the "Start" button and keep the shutter open,
set it to "Toggle" instead.
6. Press the "Start" button on the Promote Control to open the camera shutter. The Promote Control
shows the elapsed exposure time, and optionally, emits an audible signal every second the shutter is
open. See Beep every second in manual hold mode setting description in Setup Menu to
deactivate the audible feedback in "Manual Hold" mode.
If Mirror Lock-Up functionality is required in "Manual Hold" mode, press the "Start" button briefly to lock
the mirror in the raised position, wait until the camera stops shaking, and then press the "Start" button
again to start the actual exposure. If "Control" is set to "Toggle", you may need to press the "Start"
button twice to raise the mirror and then press it for the third time to open the shutter.
7.9 Hyperfocal Calculator
Use the "Hyperfocal Calculator" mode to compute an F-number required for a desired hyperfocal
distance, or compute a hyperfocal distance from a desired F-number.
Computing an F-number required for a desired hyperfocal distance
1. Switch your Promote Control to the "Hyperfocal Calculator" mode.
2. Set the desired hyperfocal distance.
3. Choose your lens focal length from the list. If your lens' focal length is not in the list, choose the
closest higher focal length from the list.
4. Choose your camera sensor crop factor from the list:
2x - for Four Thirds standard cameras.
1.6x - for Canon DX cameras.
