ChoosiNg dhCp or a statiC ip address
When you setup your Vess R2000, you have the option of:
• EnablingDHCPandlettingyourDHCPserverassigntheIPaddresstotheVessR2000’svirtual
managementport.
• SpecifyingastaticIPaddressfortheVessR2000’svirtualmanagementport.
If you choose to enable DHCP, have your Network Administrator dedicate an IP address for the Vess R2000,
linked to the Vess R2000’s MAC address. This action prevents the DHCP server from assigning a new IP address
when the Vess R2000 restarts, with the result that users can no longer log in.
