MakiNg a serial CoNNeCtioN

Before you begin, be sure the RJ11-to-DB9 serial data cable is connected between the Host

PC and the Vess enclosure, and that both machines are booted and running.

Serial ports on the controllers

Then do the following actions:

1. Change your terminal emulation program settings to match the following specications:

Bitspersecond:115200

• Databits:8

• Parity:None

• Stopbits:1

• Flowcontrol:none

2. Start your PC’s terminal VT100 or ANSI emulation program.

3. Press Enter once to launch the CLI.
