Starting Up After Shutdown
There are two methods for shutting down the subsystem. Choose one:
Starting up the VessRAID – Telnet Connection (page 287)
Starting up the VessRAID – Serial Connection (page 287)
Starting up the VessRAID – Telnet Connection
To start the RAID subsystem:
1. Manually turn on the power supply switches on the back of the subsystem.
If the switches are ON but the subsystem is OFF, turn the switches off and
on again.
On subsystems with redundant power supplies, if the power switches do not
respond, unplug the power cords and plug them back in. Try the power
switches again.
2. Wait about two minutes.
3. Establish a Telnet connection to the VessRAID.
See “Making a Telnet Connection” on page 209.
If you cannot log in, wait 30 seconds and try again.
4. Type menu and press Enter to open the CLU.
Starting up the VessRAID – Serial Connection
To start the RAID subsystem:

3. Establish a serial connection to the VessRAID.
See “Making a Serial Connection” on page 208.

Important
If you have a JBOD expansion, always power on the JBOD
expansion units first. Then power on the RAID subsystem.
