3. Click on the Restore tab.
4. Select a Source.
Sources are identified by drive letters and correspond to a specific folder on
the SmartStor.
5. Choose a restoration location.
• Restore to original location – The files from the SmartStor will overwrite
the files on our PC
• Select a restore location – The files from the SmartStor are
saved in a set of folders that match the original file structure
from where they were copied
6. Optional. If you chose a new Restore location, click the Browse
button (right), navigate to the destination you want, highlight the
destination folder, then click the Open button to select the folder.
7. In the Folder List, click on the folder you want to restore.
Click the + icon to expand the file tree.
A checkmark appears beside the selected folder. The restore will include the
folder you select and all subfolders.
8. Do one of the following actions:
• To perform the Restore now, click Start button.
• To perform the Restore later, click the Apply button to save your
settings.
When you are ready perform the backup, click the Tools menu and
choose Restore > Start.
Scheduling a Backup
A Backup copies folders from your PC to the SmartStor.
Caution
The SmartStor and SmartSYNC cannot restore a failed boot drive
in your PC. However, you can use the SmartStor to save your
system backup file. See your Windows documentation for
information about system backups.
