unlocKing the ui
By default, the UI is locked to prevent unauthorized changes to your RAID system. When the UI is
locked, you cannot create logical drives or change settings on the Pegasus2 unit.
To unlock the UI:
1. At the lower left screen of the PROMISE Utility window, click the closed lock icon.
ThePROMISEUtilitypassworddialogboxopens.
2. TypeyourMaccomputerpasswordintothePasswordeldandclicktheOKbutton.
The lock icon changes to open and you can now add and delete logical drives, make settings,
runbackgroundactivities,andupdateyourPegasus2system.

ThePROMISEUtilitydisplaysaseparatewindowforeachPegasusunitconnectedbyThunderbolt
cableandpoweredup.
• To view a list of the Pegasus or Pegasus2 units, click the View menu. .
• To display a Pegasus or Pegasus2 unit in the PROMISE Utility, click the View menu and choose
unit you want to see.
TherstPegasusunitisPegasusR4or(R6,R8),thesecondisPegasusR4-2or(R6-2,R8-2),
thethirdisPegasusR4-3or(R6-3,R8-3),andsoon.ThePegasusunitsarelistedbytheorderin
whichtheyarerecognized,notbythecableconguration.
ThePROMISEUtilitycanbeusedforeitherPegasusorPegaus2models.
