Sony has an impressive background in
both analogue and IP technologies, and
is very confident of its expertise in
capturing the best possible image. As
the industry moves more and more
towards IP, Sony builds on its heritage by
releasing cutting edge HD and Full HD
cameras, whilst also developing a full
range of encoders and hybrid recorders.
HD and Full HD cameras are increasingly
being installed as the preferred format
for high quality IP surveillance. As this
demand grows, so too does the need
for innovative and value added features.
To satisfy this demand, Sony has
introduced such features as View-DR,
XDNR, Visibility Enhancer, DEPA and
Adaptive IR which are now seen as vital
and take the IP video surveillance
industry “Beyond HD”.
At Sony, we believe that selecting a
camera designed for security focuses on
three key points to satisfy the demand for
clarity - Sensitivity, Wide Dynamic Range
and Resolution.
Sensitivity
Simply speaking, crime typically
happens at night or when lighting
conditions are at their worst. For this
reason, Sony has focused its efforts on
designing sensors that can operate in
extremely low lighting conditions and
have introduced a range of cameras
with features such as, True Day/Night,
Adaptive IR, XDNR and Visibility Enhancer.
These cameras all present the best
possible picture – sharp, clear and free
from motion blur.
Wide Dynamic Range
For many years, installers have often
located cameras pointing them in
directions not preferred by the end user,
but trying to find a compromise between
the location of camera born from a
security requirement and what can
actually be seen from its output. To solve
this, Sony introduced View-DR, the best
wide dynamic range technology in the
industry at 130db.
Resolution
Finally, there is a need for a camera
that not only gives the clarity, but also
has the resolution to be able to see the
detail required. Be it a wide area of
surveillance for an excellent overview
of a site, or a much more narrowed field
of view for facial or number plate
registration.
Building on this need for clarity, Sony’s
new range of video security cameras
offer significant picture quality
enhancements to present images better
than the human eye can visualise.
VIDEO SECURITY
INTRODUCTION
The future of video
security is here.
At Sony we understand that every site is different, every user has different requirements
and every installer has different needs. Some sites are analogue and some are IP, some
are a combination of both and some sites simply have nothing at all. The one thing which
remains consistent is the demand for high quality, cost effective surveillance solutions.
