4. Install the 40-pin connector of the IDE cable into the RAID IDE connector and the other
40-pin connector(s) into the hard drives with the colored edge of the ribbon cable aligned
with pin 1 of the drive edge connector(s).
NOTE: You must use an 80-wire, 40-pin cable when connecting an Ultra
ATA/100 hard drive.
Checking CMOS Settings
If you want the system to boot from a drive that is connected to the RAID IDE connector or
SCSI add-in card, you must first select “SCSI” in the “First Boot Device” field (Advanced BIOS
Features) of the Award BIOS setup utility.
If there are drives connected to both the RAID IDE connector and SCSI add-in card,
you must then select which drive you want to boot from in the “RAID Chip Boot
Device” field.
