Chapter 3: FastBuild Configuration Utility

Follow these steps to use the Rebuild Array feature:

1. Press Ctrl-F to enter FastBuild Main Menu.

2. Select Define Array (3).

3. Press the arrow keys to select the Critical logical disk then press Enter to

select it.

The View Array Definition Menu appears (below).

In the example above, there is a two-drive Mirrored (RAID 1) logical disk.

Under Drive Assignments, the drive in Channel 1 appears but no drive

appears in Channel 2. This means the disk drive connected to Channel 2 is

the failed drive.

4. Power down your system.

5. Replace the failed drive with an identical or larger disk drive.

6. Reboot the system and enter the FastBuild Main Menu.

7. Select the Rebuild Array (5) option.

8. Press the arrow keys to select the Critical logical disk then press Enter to

select it.

Important

Drives MUST be replaced if they contain any physical errors,

before rebuilding the logical disk.
