Fridgedefrosting
Thefridgedefrostingprocessiscarriedoutautomaticallyeverytimethecompressorstops.
Thedefrostwaterisautomaticallyroutedtothedrainportandintoatrayplacedonthetopofthe
compressortotherearoftheappliancefromwhichitevaporates.
Makesurethedrainportonthefridgeattherearoftheapplianceiskeptclear.
Freezerdefrosting
Frostwillaccumulateinsidethefreezerdependinguponthelengthoftimeduringwhichthedoorisleft
openortheamountofmoistureintroduced.
Itisessentialtoensurethatnofrostoriceisallowedtoformatplaceswhereitwillaffecttheclose
fittingofthedoorseal.
Thismightallowairtopenetratethecabinet,thusencouragingcontinuousrunningofthecompressor.
Thinfrostformationisquitesoftandcanberemovedwithabrushorplasticscraper.Donotusemetalor
sharpscrapers,mechanicaldevicesorothermeanstoacceleratethedefrostingprocess.Removeall
dislodgedfrostfromthecabinetfloor.
Fortheremovalofthinfrostitisnotnecessarytoswitchofftheappliance.
Fortheremovalofheavyicedepositsdisconnecttheappliancefromthemainssupplyandemptythe
contentsintocardboardboxesandwrapinthick
blanketsorlayersofpapertokeepthemcold.
Defrostingwi ll bemosteffectiveifcarriedoutwhenthefreezerisempty,anditshouldbecarriedoutas
quicklyaspossible.
Anincreaseintemperatureoffrozenfoodpackagesduringdefrostingwillshortenthestoragelife.
Providedthatthecontentsarewellwrappedandplacedinacoolarea,theyshouldkeepforseveral
hours.
Examinethecontentswhenreplacingtheminthefreezerandifsomeofthepackageshavethaw edout.
Afterdefrostingisfinishedcleantheinsidewithasolutionofwarmwaterwithalittlebicarbonate
of
sodaandthendrythoroughly.Washallremovablepartsinthesamewayandreassemble.
Reconnecttheappliancetothemainssupplyandleavefor2to3hoursonsettingnumber7before
introducingthefoodbackintothefreezerandsettingthethermostattoyournormalsetting.
Noisefromyourappliance
Youmaynoticesomeratherunusualnoises.Thenoisesarecausedbycirculationofrefrigerantinthe
coolingsystem.IthasbecomemorepronouncedsincetheintroductionofCFCfreegases.Thisisnota
