6.5 Replacing the Internal Battery
6.5.1 Replacing the Battery for Backup of Internal Clock Data
The PL unit has an internal battery for backup of internal clock data.

• The expected battery service life is 5 years, however the battery may die befo re
then. It is strongly recommended that you replace th e battery regularly.
• When the battery is replaced, the BIOS settings are initialized. Configure the
BIOS settings again after replacing the battery.
There is a danger of explosion if the PL unit’s battery is incorrectly replaced. This battery
should be replaced with equivale nt type recommended by Pro-fa ce.
Prior to replacing the battery, be sure to turn OFF the PL unit’s power.
Be careful not to cause a short circuit.
Do NOT to touch any internal parts except the battery and the battery holder.
During the replacement, be extremely careful not to drop the batte ry onto the PC board
inside the PL unit. This may cause product failure.
Dispose of used batteries according to the battery manufacturer’s instructions.
