Traditionally, the path to a highly available switch
infrastructure has been by way of complex, costly,
provider-oriented “big-box” solutions—something
only affordable for network core and aggregation
deployments by the largest of enterprise customers.
High up-front, upgrade, and support costs also
came with unnecessary feature and management
complexity. Such solutions, appropriate for large
enterprise core and aggregation deployments, have
not provided those customers with a scalable path to
