When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed, including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory,
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they are closely supervised and
instructed concerning use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance
is used by or near children. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children without
supervision. Children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
4. Do not touch hot surfaces or hot water. Use handles or
knobs. Care must be taken as burns can occur from
touching hot parts or from spilled hot liquid.
5. To protect against fire, electric shock, and personal
injury, do not immerse cord, plug, base, or electric
kettle in water or other liquid.
6. Unplug from outlet when kettle is not in use and before
cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off
parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
7. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged supply
cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or
has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Supply
cord replacement and repairs must be conducted
by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly
qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. Contact
Customer Service for information on examination,
repair, or adjustment as set forth in the Limited
Warranty.
8. The use of accessory attachments not recommended
or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause a
risk of injury to persons.
9. Do not use outdoors.
10. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or
touch hot surfaces, including the stove.
11. Do not place electric kettle on or near a hot gas or
electric burner or in a heated oven.
12. To disconnect electric kettle, turn any control to
OFF (O) and then remove plug from wall outlet. To
unplug, grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never
pull from the power cord.
13. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
14. Do not use for other than heating water. Other liquids
or food will contaminate the interior and void warranty.
15. Do not allow kettle to boil dry.
16. To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another high-
wattage appliance on the same circuit.
17. WARNING: Scalding may occur if the lid is opened
during the heating cycle.
18. Heater may remain hot after the kettle is turned off.
19. WARNING: If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may
be ejected.
20. Be certain kettle lid is securely in place during
operation and when pouring hot water. Do not use
force when placing lid on kettle.
21. Do not clean glass with cleansers, steel wool pads, or
other abrasive material.

This appliance is intended for household use only.
WARNING! Shock Hazard: This product is provided with
either a polarized (one wide blade) or grounded (3-prong)
plug to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only
one way into a polarized or grounded outlet. Do not defeat
the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any
way or by using an adapter. If the plug does not fit fully into
the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, have an
electrician replace the outlet.
The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected
to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping
over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an
approved extension cord may be used. The electrical rating
of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the
rating of the appliance. If the appliance is of the grounded
type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type,
3-wire cord. Care must be taken to arrange the extension
cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop
where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally
tripped over.
How to use the kettle
BEFORE FIRST USE: Fill kettle to maximum capacity, bring
to a boil, and then manually shut off the kettle. Discard
water and repeat. Rinse well.
NOTES:
• Use water only in the kettle. If used for foods or
beverages such as tea or coffee, the warranty will be
voided.
• For increased efficiency and longer life, the kettle must
be kept clean of mineral deposits. We recommend that
you empty the kettle after each use to prevent mineral
deposits.
1. Unplug kettle before filling.
2. Fill kettle with desired amount of water. Make sure to
cover the element. The water level must be between
minimum and maximum indicator lines on the water
level indicator.
WARNING! Burn Hazard. If kettle is overfilled, there is
a risk that boiling water may spit out of the spout.
NOTE: This kettle has a built-in safety feature for
protection should the unit be plugged in without an
adequate amount of water or if the kettle boils dry.
3. Make sure that the lid is in place and the kettle or
power base (cordless models only) is standing on a
level surface. If the lid is not in place, auto shut-off will
not operate. All kettle cords must be kept away from
hot surfaces.
4. For cordless models, ensure kettle is correctly
engaged on base.
5. Plug in kettle.
6. Switch to ON (I) position. A light will illuminate when
the kettle is on.
7. The kettle will switch off automatically when the water
has boiled or you can manually shut the kettle OFF (O)
when desired.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the cordless kettle has
switched off automatically or is switched off manually
before removing it from the base.
8. Unplug kettle before pouring.
WARNING! Burn Hazard: Use extreme caution when
carrying the kettle containing hot water. Do not pour in
the direction of people or over people.
9. If you want to refill kettle immediately, first check the
water level indicator and then, if required, run cold
water in through the spout.
10. After use, unplug the kettle and empty.
11. Do not hold the switch on while the kettle is boiling.
If Kettle Floor Discolors: It is normal for stainless steel
heating elements to discolor. This does not affect the
performance of the kettle. Do not use abrasive scouring
pads or cleaners since this may damage the stainless
steel surface.
If Kettle Boils Dry: The heating element is protected by
an automatic safety device. If the kettle is accidentally
switched on without water, or is allowed to boil dry, the
kettle will automatically repeat a cycle of switching off,
cooling down, and switching back on. If this happens, you
should:
1. Unplug the kettle.
2. Wait about 20 minutes for the element to cool down
and then use as normal and check that the kettle
functions correctly.
If Kettle Does Not Work: Make these simple checks
before calling the toll-free customer assistance number:
• Have you turned power switch to ON (l) position?
• If the kettle heats but does not boil, it might need
descaling.
• Has the kettle been accidentally turned on without being
filled with water or allowed to boil dry? Turn the switch
to OFF (O), wait 20 minutes, and try again.
• Is cord firmly plugged into the outlet and kettle firmly
seated in the base?
Burn Hazard. Do not overfill kettle.
Boiling water may spit out of the spout.

Electric Shock Hazard. Do not immerse
kettle, power base, or plug in water or
other liquids.
w WARNING
1. With kettle unplugged, empty any remaining water.
Allow kettle to cool.
2. To avoid scale/lime deposit buildup, empty kettle after
each use.
3. To remove discoloration or scale/lime deposit from
heating element: Place 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
(available in the spice aisle of grocery store) into the
kettle. Then fill the kettle 1/2 full with water. Plug in,
turn ON (I), and bring to boil. Turn OFF (O), let cool,
and rinse several times with clean tap water.
4. Wipe the exterior of kettle with a damp cloth. Do not
use abrasive scouring pads or powders since they may
scratch the smooth surface of the kettle.
Care and cleaning
This warranty applies to products purchased and used in the
U.S. and Canada. This is the only express warranty for this
product and is in lieu of any other warranty or condition.
This product is warranted to be free from defects in material
and workmanship for a period of three (3) years from the
date of original purchase. During this period, your exclusive
remedy is repair or replacement of this product or any
component found to be defective, at our option; however,
you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the
product to us and our returning a product or component under
this warranty to you. If the product or component is no longer
available, we will replace with a similar one of equal or greater
value.
This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal
use, use not in conformity with the printed directions, or
damage to the product resulting from accident, alteration,
abuse, or misuse. This warranty extends only to the original
consumer purchaser or gift recipient. Keep the original sales
receipt, as proof of purchase is required to make a warranty
claim. This warranty is void if the product is used for other than
single-family household use or subjected to any voltage and
waveform other than as specified on the rating label (e.g.,
120V ~ 60 Hz).
We exclude all claims for special, incidental, and consequential
damages caused by breach of express or implied warranty.
All liability is limited to the amount of the purchase price.
Every implied warranty, including any statutory warranty
or condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular
purpose, is disclaimed except to the extent prohibited by
law, in which case such warranty or condition is limited
to the duration of this written warranty. This warranty
gives you specific legal rights. You may have other legal
rights that vary depending on where you live. Some states or
provinces do not allow limitations on implied warranties or
special, incidental, or consequential damages, so the foregoing
limitations may not apply to you.

Limited warranty

16. Pour éviter la surchauffe d’un circuit électrique, ne pas
brancher d’autre appareil de haute puissance sur le
même circuit.
17. AVERTISSEMENT: Il y a un risque de brûlure si le
couvercle est ouvert durant le cycle de chauffage.
18. L’élément chauffant peut rester chaud une fois que la
bouilloire est éteinte.

Ne pas transformer le dispositif de sécurité de la fiche en
modifiant celle-ci de quelconque façon ou en utilisant un
adaptateur. Si vous ne pouvez pas insérer complètement
la fiche dans la prise, inversez la fiche. Si elle refuse
toujours de s’insérer, faire remplacer la prise par un
électricien.
La longueur du cordon installé sur cet appareil a été
sélectionnée afin de réduire les risques d’enchevêtrement
ou de faux pas causés par un fil trop long. L’utilisation
d’une rallonge approuvée est permise, si le cordon est

manuellement la bouilloire. Jeter l’eau et recommencer.

REMARQUES :
• Utiliser seulement de l’eau dans la bouilloire. Si
l’appareil est utilisé pour des aliments ou des boissons
telles que thé ou café, la garantie ne sera pas valide.
• Pour plus d’efficacité et une vie utile prolongée de
la bouilloire, on doit éviter la présence de dépôts
de minéraux. Nous vous recommandons de vider la
bouilloire après chaque utilisation pour empêcher
les dépôts de minéraux.
1. Débrancher la bouilloire avant de la remplir.

3. S’assurer que le couvercle est en place et que
la bouilloire ou la base (modèles sans cordon
uniquement) repose sur une surface droite. Si le
couvercle n’est pas en place, l’arrêt automatique
ne fonctionnera pas. Tous les cordons de bouilloire
doivent être gardés loin des surfaces chaudes.
4. Pour le modèle sans cordon, s’assurer que la bouilloire
est correctement enclenchée sur la base.
5. Brancher la bouilloire.
6. Mettre l’appareil en position marche (ON/I). Un témoin
s’allumera lorsque la bouilloire est en marche.
7. La bouilloire se éteindra automatiquement lorsque
l’eau bouillit, vous pouvez aussi éteindre la bouilloire
manuellement quand vous le désirez en appuyant sur
arrêt (OFF/O).
IMPORTANT : S’assurer que la bouilloire sans
cordon s’est éteinte automatiquement ou s’éteint
manuellement avant de la retirer de la base.
8. Débrancher la bouilloire avant de servir.
AVERTISSEMENT ! Risque de brûlures : Faire très
attention lors du transport d’une bouilloire qui contient
de l’eau chaude. Ne pas verser dans la direction des
gens ou en se penchant par dessus eux.
9. Si vous voulez remplir la bouilloire immédiatement,
vérifier d’abord le témoin du niveau d’eau puis, au
besoin, faire couler de l’eau froide dans le bec verseur.
10. Après utilisation, débrancher la bouilloire et la vider.
11. Ne pas retenir le bouton en position de marche lorsque
la bouilloire bout.
Si le fond de la bouilloire se décolore : L’acier
inoxydable des éléments chauffants décoloré est normal.
Ceci ne nuit pas au fonctionnement de la bouilloire. Ne
pas utiliser de tampons à récurer ou nettoyants, car ils
pourraient endommager la surface en acier inoxydable.

How to use the kettle
Anti-Scale Mesh Filter: Scale is caused by lime and calcium
in hard water. The mesh filter will prevent these suspended
particles from being poured out of the kettle. The filter should
be cleaned periodically to ensure optimum performance. To
clean the filter, unplug kettle and allow to cool. The mesh
filter may be removed by pressing down on filter tab, which
is visible through the kettle opening, and pushing it towards
the spout and sliding the filter up. Rinse filter under running
water and brush with a soft brush. An old, clean toothbrush
works well. To replace the mesh filter, slide the filter down
into the spout and press down on the filter tab. Push the filter
back until the filter tab latches into the kettle opening.
