NOTE: Coordination of safeties and mechanical/electrical interlocks for point-of-
operation protection is outside the scope of this document, and are not included in
any wiring diagrams, installation examples, application examples, programming
examples, or other representations that may be included in this and other related
documents.
Start-Up and Test
Before using electrical control and automation equipment for reg
ular
operation after
installation, the system should be given by a start-up test qualified personnel to
verify correct operation of the equipment. It is important that the arrangements for
such a check be made and that enough time is allowed to perform complete and
satisfactory testing.
Follow all start-up tests recomme
nded in the equipment documentation. Store all
equipment documentation for future references.
Verify that the completed system is free f
rom all short circuits and grounds, except
those grounds installed according to local and national regulations. If high-potential
voltage testing is necessary, follow recommendations in equipment documentation
to help prevent accidental equipment damage or injury.
WARNING
UNINTENDED EQUIPMENT OPERATION
z Use appropriate safety interlocks where personnel and/or equipment hazards
exist.
z Install and operate this equipment in an enclosure appropriately rated for its
intended environment.
z Use the sensor and actuator power supplies only for supplying power to the
sensors or actuators connected to the module.
z Power line and output circuits must be wired and fused in compliance with local
and national regulatory requirements for the rated current and voltage of the
particular equipment.
z Do not use this equipment in safety-critical machine functions.
z Do not disassemble, repair, or modify this equipment.
z Do not connect any wiring to unused connections, or to connections designated
as Not Connected (N.C.).
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or
equ
ipment damage.
CAUTION
EQUIPMENT OPERATION HAZARD
z Verify that all installation and set up procedures have been completed.
z Before operational tests are performed, remove all blocks or other temporary
holding means used for shipment from all component devices.
z Remove tools, meters, and debris from equipment.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in injury or equipment damage.
