Binding
Bindingistheprocessofprogrammingthereceiverto
recognizetheGUID(GloballyUniqueIdentifier)codeofa
singlespecifictransmitter.Theincludedtransmitterand
receiverareboundatthefactory.Ifyouneedtorebind,
followtheinstructionsbelow.
1. Ensurethetransmitterandvehiclearebothpowered
OFF.
2. Removetheradioboxcoverandinstallthebindplug
intheBIND/batteryportofthereceiver.Powerthe
receiverthroughanyotherport.
3. PowerONthevehicle.ThereceiverLEDwillblink
green.
4. Standapproximately8–12feet(2.4–3.7m)fromthe
vehicle.Withthesteeringwheelandthrottletrigger
inthefailsafepositions(neutral),pressandhold
thebindbuttonandpowerONthetransmitter.The
transmitter’sgreenLEDwillblinkafter3seconds,
indicatingitisinbindmode.
5. ReleasethebindbuttonwhenthegreenLEDflashes.
Continueholdingfailsafepositionsuntilthebinding
processiscomplete.
6. ThereceiverLEDwillglowsolidwhenthetransmitter
andreceiverarebound.
7. PowerOFFthevehicle,thenthetransmitter.
8. Removethebindplugandstoreitinaconvenient
place.
9. Reinstalltheradioboxcover.
Thereceiverwillkeepthebindingtothetransmitteruntil
anotherbindingisdone.
Ifyouencounterproblems,obeybindinginstructionsand
refertothetroubleshootingguideforotherinstructions.If
needed,contacttheappropriateHorizonProductSupport
ofce.
NOTICE:Donotattempttobindthetransmitterand
receiverifthereareothercompatibletransmittersinbind
modewithin400feet.Doingsomayresultinunexpected
binding.
Failsafe
Intheunlikelyeventthattheradioconnectionislost
duringuse,thereceiverwilldrivetheservostotheirpre
programmedfailsafepositions(normallynothrottleand
straightsteering).
Ifthereceiverispoweredonbeforepoweringonthe
transmitter,thereceiverwillenterthisfailsafemode.
Whenthetransmitterispoweredon,normalcontrolis
resumed.
IMPORTANT:Failsafeactivatesonlyintheevent
thatsignalislostfromthetransmitter.Failsafewill
NOTactivateintheeventthatreceiverbatterypower
decreasesbelowtherecommendedminimumsorpower
tothereceiverislost.
Range Check
IMPORTANT: Performarangecheckatthebeginningof
eachboatingsession,afterrepairorafterinstallationof
newbatteries.
Ensurethereceiverantennaisextendedproperlyandall
batteriesarefullycharged.
1. Withtheradiosystempoweredonandconnected,
whiletheengineisoff,walkawayfromyourboat90
feet(32m).
2. Haveanassistantremainwiththeboattocheckfor
propercontrolmovementoftherudderandthrottle
servosinresponsetoyourtransmitterinput.
3. Ifeverythingappearstobeoperatingcorrectly,place
theboatinthewater,starttheengine,andincrease
throttleto1⁄3throttleneartheshore.
NOTICE: Donotoperatetheenginewithoutwater
coolingcirculationordamagemayresult.
4. Checksteeringandthrottleonthetransmitter.While
theboatismovingforward,ensurewaterflowsoutof
thecoolantoutlets.
5. Iftheboatdoesnotoperatecorrectly,retrievethe
boatandperformrepairs.
