THERMAL TRANSFER MEDIA
Thermal Transfer Technology : applies heat to a ribbon and the image or barcode is then transferred to labels or tags.
Compared to the Direct Thermal technology, the Thermal Transfer Technology produces a higher quality, longer lasting
image on the tag or label.
For the best image quality and durability, it is important that the ribbon type and media are compatible. The following
chart illustrates the combinations of Printronix ribbons and media that will produce the best results.
Ribbon/Media Compatibility Chart
Media 90: uncoated paper label with permanent acrylic
adhesive (Advised Ribbons : 8300, 8500 and 8550).
Qualified for all Printronix thermal printers. Typical
applications include: General purpose labels, compliance
labelling, shipping, general warehouse address, AIAG,
ODETTE, UCC/EAN, LOGMARS, product ID, hardware parts
supply.
Media 90R: uncoated paper label with removable adhesive
(Advised Ribbons : 8300, 8500 and 8550).
Qualified for all Printronix thermal printers. Typical
applications include: Temporary product ID, pricing, point of
sale and shelf marking labels that can be cleanly removed.
Media 100: coated paper label with permanent acrylic
adhesive (Advised Ribbons : 8300, 8500, 8550 and 8580).
Qualified for all Printronix thermal printers.
Typical applications include: general purpose labels,
compliance labelling, shipping, general warehouse, address,
AIAG, ODETTE, UCC/EAN, LOGMARS, product ID, hardware
parts supply.
Media 100R: coated paper label with removable adhesive
