3D Rig Geometry
The 3D mode is designed to control the convergence angle and inter-ocular distance for
3D rigs which are configured with the rotation axis about the nodal point of the lens as
shown below. The convergence angle is
θ, and the distance from the subject to the lens
nodal point is D1. D2 is the “Camera Offset” distance, measured from the lens nodal point
to the camera focal plane.
D3 = The Inter-ocular distance
The camera rotates about the nodal point
of the lens.
