Assembling the Climber  15 
Required Tools 
Before beginning the installation, make sure you have the 
following tools available: 
  Wire tie cutter 
  Phillips screwdriver 
  One ¹₂-inch combination wrench (open-end or box-end) 
  SAE Standard socket set 
  Standard set of hex keys 
Assembling the Climber 
A fish tape (a thin metal strip with a hook or clasp on one end, 
available from professional hardware vendors) can be helpful 
during this procedure. 
To assemble the main climber mechanism: 
1.  Place the upright support on a flat work surface. 
2.  Remove the two hex nuts and washers that secure the 
handrail clamp, then set them aside.

3.  While your assistant holds the heart rate handlebar near 
the display console, feed the heart rate cable through the 
opening in the upright support. Pull the end of the cable 
out through the top of the support and pass it through the 
opening in the console mount as shown in the following 
illustration. Place excess cable inside the upright support. 
Important: Do not stretch, crimp, or damage the cables. 
Cables damaged by improper installation will not be covered 
by the Precor Limited Warranty.
