Rules for Safe Operation
The following safety precautions are suggested. This Bag Seeder/Spreader is designed, engineered
and tested to offer reasonably safe and effective service, provided that it is operated in strict
accordance with these instructions. Failure to do so may result in personal injury. Always observe
the rules of safe operation. Please read and retain this manual.
1. Do not allow anyone to operate the Bag Seeder/Spreader without proper instructions.
2. Wear eye and hand protection when handling or applying lawn or garden chemicals.
3. Read the chemical label instructions and cautions for handling and applying the chemicals
purchased for spreading.
4. Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure equipment is in safe working condition.
5. Follow maintenance and lubrication instructions as outlined in this manual.
6. Always wear substantial footwear. Do not wear loose fitting clothing that can get caught in
moving parts.
7. Stay alert for holes in the terrain and other hidden hazards.
8. Do not leave lawn or garden chemicals in bag when not in use.
9. Proper settings for seeds or chemicals to be used is found on the rate setting chart on the
underside of this unit.
10. Loosen wing nut and move setting indicator to proper setting. All the way forward is setting 1.
11. To fill, make sure the slide opening is in a closed position. Do not fill bag more that 2/3 full.
12. Start walking before opening the feed slide. Slide lever back and place behind appropriate setting
on the indicator. The crank should make one revolution for each step taken with your right foot,
to ensure proper distribution rate.
13. To close feeder side, simply push up on the slide lever and the slide will go into a closed
position.
Maintenance
1. We recommend that you use only a dry lubricant, such as silicone or graphite on all bearings
and moving parts.
2. Do not use oil or grease.
3. Keep unit clean and dry.
