The ADI-B supplement is an adjustable differential protection type B, external to the control board.
It is a residual current relay with external toroidal transformer.
It provide a protection against indirect contacts, and prevent leakage currents.
The relay also monitors electrical installations when used directly as signaling relay.
The advantage of this type of differential protection is that is possible to set sensitivity and intervention time.

Ø Conformity to Standard:
• IEC 60755
• IEC 60947-2
• IEC 62020
• IEC 60364
Ø Relay with 2 alarm relays:
• Either 2 alarm relays
• Either 1 alarm relays or 1 pre-alarm (50 %
to 100% IΔn) relay.
Ø Adjustment sensitivity from 30mA up to 3A.
Ø Intervention time delay from 0 s (instantaneous)
up to 10 s.
Ø Measurement accuracy by TRMS.
Ø Positive or negative security configurable by the
user
Ø Automatic permanent relay-toroid connection
test
Ø Sealed cover
Operating:
1. LCD Display
2. “TEST” pushbutton:
select to activate auto-
test function or to scroll
up in menu mode.
3. “RESET” pushbutton:
reset fault alarm charge
parameter.
4. “MENU” pushbutton: select to activate
menu mode and to confirm setting in menu
mode.
5. Alarm Led: activated in case of alarm and
blinking in case of faults.
AL1 e AL2 are activate when the threshold set
in ALLARM1 and ALLARM2 is exceed
Applications:
A fast recognition of an insulation fault increases
the availability of the distribution network by
preventing accidental power cuts and the
resulting loss of production.
The TRMS measurement avoids repeated
random tripping.
Examples of conventional applications:
Ø AC Low Voltage networks: TT, TNS, IT.
Ø Protection:
• against indirect contact
• against fire risk
• against explosion risk
• of earth and protection conductors
Ø Preventive signalling;
Ø Monitoring installations where periodic
insulation measurements with power off are
impossible
