Another feature associated with ride pacing is the Ride Partner metric.
This metric contains 3 values:
The distance between you and the Ride Partner, “+” if the RP is
ahead, “-” if the RP is behind you.
The amount time the Ride Partner is Ahead(+) or Behind(-) you.
The Escape or Closure rate. This is the average speed you will
need to maintain to finish the route just ahead of the Ride
Partner. The label will list as “Escape RT” when you are ahead
of the RP, “Closure RT” when you are behind the RP.
As mentioned earlier, routes created from a previous ride will have associated pacing data (the average speed and
total time to complete the route). You can choose to alter the pacing associated with the route on the route attribute
page. When the route is complete a notice will appear on the Joule GPS screen containing summary information
regarding the total time to complete the route and the average speed for both you and the Ride Partner.

CHAPTER 5: NAVIGATION
ROUTES, continued
When the route selected contains associated Turn by
Turn directions, a Route Cue Sheet dashboard will
appear in your list of dashboards. The Route dashboard
will display the heading, the distance, and direction to
the next route point (a turn or point of interset). The route
is also displayed on Navigation dashboard. If any other
dashboard is displayed, notice messages will appear
over the dashboard when you are within 200 meters of
the upcoming turn.
To create a route with turn by turn directions you must
use a mapping site which has the capability to produce a
route file containing turn by turn information, for example
ridewithgps.com. Not all mapping sites have the
capability to create a route file containing turn by turn
information.
