General Information and Setup
Emissions
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (US
EPA) (and California Air Resources Board (CARB), for
engines/equipment certified to California standards)
requires this engine/equipment to comply with exhaust
and evaporative emissions standards. Locate the emis-
sions compliance decal on the engine to determine appli-
cable standards. See the included emissions warranty for
emissions warranty information. Follow the maintenance
specifications in this manual to ensure the engine com-
plies with applicable emissions standards for the duration
of the product’s life.
Assembling the Unit
Proceed as follows to assemble the unit:
1. See Figure 2-2. Secure support leg (A) to engine
using bolts (B), shock absorbers (C), large flat
washers (D), flat washers (E), lock washers (F),
and nylon lock nuts (G).

2. Attach wheel (H) and flat washer (J) to each end of
axle assembly at lower rear of unit.
3. Insert cotter pin (K) through each end of axle and
bend cotter pin over to secure wheels.
4. See Figure 2-3. Position hopper (L) onto unit and
secure with bolts, flat washers, and lock nuts.

5. Attach handle (M) to hopper using bolts (N) and
nylon lock nuts (P).
6. Lift discharge port cover (Q) and attach discharge
bag (R) onto discharge port using the rope tie.

30 °F (-1 °C) or below: 5W-30
Fuel Unleaded gasoline. Minimum 85 octane rating.

Fire and explosion risk. Keep spark and flame
away from liquid and vapor. Do not smoke while
using. Doing so could result in death, serious
injury, or equipment damage.

Skin irritation. Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with
used motor oil. Used motor oil has been shown to cause
skin cancer in laboratory animals. Thoroughly wash
exposed areas with soap and water.

Engine damage. Verify proper type and quantity of
engine oil prior to starting engine. Failure to do so
could result in engine damage.
