3. Starting the Engine
After you have completed the pre-start checklist procedures, you are ready to start the engine.
To start the engine:
1. Disconnect all loads to the generator.
2. Turn the fuel valve to the ON position.
3. For cold engine, move choke lever to full closed position. To restart a warm engine, move choke lever to
half choke or to open position.
4. Start the engine:
a) Using electric start
i) Turn the engine key switch to the START position and hold it there until the engine starts.
Note: If the engine fails to start after 3
seconds, release key and wait 10 seconds
before attempting to start again. Cranking the
electric starter for more than 3 seconds
continuously can overheat and damage the
starter motor.
ii) Release the key when the engine starts.
