1. Handling and Maintenance
o Never pull, drag, or lift the blanket by the power cord.
o Never use ungrounded, worn or damaged extension cords.
o If supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent or similar qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
o Never connect to a higher voltage power supply than what is listed on the cord. (Ref. image 1A)
o Never connect the blanket to a power source when rolled or folded.
o Always use a Ground Fault Protection Device when using Powerblanket® products.
o Do not submerge Powerblanket® blanket products in water. They are water resistant, not waterproof. Keep them out of
flooded areas and make sure to use grounded extension cords with a working GFCI circuit.
o When using a blanket that has an arrow and the word “TOP” (Ref. image 1B) by the cord, it is important that this side of
the blanket is installed at the top of the vessel you are heating. Installing in any other configuration will cause less than
optimal heating.(Ref. image 4C on page 2)
o Clean surfaces daily of all dirt and debris with a mild soap and warm water; then inspect for rips, tears or holes of any
kind.
o Do not return to service until repaired or patched. Patch all holes using the Powerblanket® blanket vinyl repair kit, or a
similar product. Caution, not using the Powerblanket® blanket vinyl repair kit may void your warranty; contact your local
distributor or Powerblanket® directly for ordering or more information.
o Prepare for storage by removing all debris that can pierce the outer shell. If possible avoid folding the blanket as this will
increase blanket longevity. If folding is necessary, follow the steps below.
o When folding the blanket avoid creasing and crumpling. Fold lines should have an arch to prevent damage to the blanket.
(Ref. images 2B, 3B, and 4B)
o Note: Only fold the blanket as many times as necessary to prepare for storage. Excessive folding or creasing may damage
your blanket! Never fold the blanket hot to hot. Never roll the blanket up.
2. Instructions
o Be sure the work area is free of sharp objects that may puncture or tear your Powerblanket® blanket product.
o Make sure that the side not marked COLD is facing the surface requiring heat.
o Never operate your blanket while folded!
o Because Powerblanket® heated blankets are designed to operate in most environmental conditions without additional
insulation, do not cover the blanket. Covering the blanket may cause irreparable damage (the one exception to this is the
Multi Duty blanket, which may be covered if the entire blanket is uniformly covered).
o Do not place heavy objects on your blanket and never walk on the blanket.
o Now simply let your blanket product do the work for you.
o After each use follow the cleaning and folding directions above.
o If your blanket has any problems, or isn’t functioning properly please see the troubleshooting section.
