OPERATION
KNOW YOUR CHAIN SAW

ON/STOP SWITCH
The ON/STOP SWITCH is used to stop the
engine.
THROTTLE TRIGGER
The THROTTLE TRIGGER controls engin e
speed.
THRO TTLE LOCK--OUT
The THROTTLE LOCK--OUT must be
pressed before you can squeeze the throttle
trigger . This feature prevents you from acci-
dentally squeezing the trigger .
CHO KE /FAST IDLE LEVER
The choke a nd fast idle ar e se t by pu lling th e
CHOKE/F AST IDLE LEVER out to the full ex-
tent for cold starting or after refueling. The
choke provides additional fuel to the engine
d ur ing cold sta rting .
PRIMER BULB
The PRIMER BULB circulates fuel to the car-
bureto r to provide quicker starting.
CHAIN BRAKE
The CHAI N B RA KE is a de vice de signed to
stop the ch a in if kickbac k occu r s. The chain
brake activates automatically in the event of
kickb ac k. The ch ain br ake a ct ivates manually
if the front hand guard is pushed forward. The
ch ain br ake is dise ng age d by pulling the fron t
hand guard back toward the front handle as far
as possible.
CHAIN TENSION
It is normal for a new chain to stretch during the
first 15 minutes of operation. You sho uld check
your chain tension frequent ly. See CHAIN
TENSION unde r the ASSEMBL Y section.
WARNING:
Muffler is very hot dur-
ing and after use. Do not touch the muffler or
allow combustible material such as dry
grass or fuel to do so.
