THE ADMIN NETWORK SUBSECTION

Host Name: Enter a name for the website associated with this

Impulse board. This name can be entered as an alternate to the

numerical IP address in the browser’s “Address” line when you want

to go to this Impulse board’s website. (Host Name requires a local

DNS Server. If you do not have one on your network, you may need to

use the numerical IP address to access the web site instead of using

a host name.) The host name cannot contain any spaces or special

punctuation such as periods, commas, or slashes.

Use DHCP to get these: Check this box if your LAN uses DHCP

protocol. Remove the check mark if your LAN uses ﬁxed IP

addressing. Consult your system administrator if you are unsure.

Fixed IP addressing is often preferred, since the IP address of the

board may occasionally change if DHCP is used.

IP Address: During conﬁguration, the Impulse web server IP address

is determined automatically by DHCP, or you may assign it here

manually if the “Use DHCP” check box is not checked.
