22 Impulse Whiteboard Operation
Using the Impulse System With Your Laptop
With a laptop computer and projector connected to your Impulse
board, a variety of powerful options become available without
changing or adding anything to your computer. The Impulse system’s
built-in intelligence enables you to:
• use the Impulse system to control your computer
• use the Impulse system speakers for computer audio
• run slide presentations entirely from the front of the room
• mark up and capture any image from your computer
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Your laptop must have:
• Windows 98, ME, 2000, or XP, or Macintosh OS 8 or X
• VGA HD-15 video port, or DB-15 video port and DB-15 to HD-15
video adapter
• PS/2 or USB port
• video display resolution of 640 x 480 to 1280 x 1024
• up to 75 Hz screen refresh rate (60 Hz @ 1280 x 1024)
• line out or headphone jack (optional) for computer audio on the
Impulse system speakers
SETTING UP THE LAPTOP COMPUTER AND PROJECTOR
The Impulse system includes a cable to connect the board to your
laptop. The cable connections between the board, the projector, and
your laptop enable the Impulse system to display and control your
computer, and capture images from it.
