Installation Guide: ROT SHIELD Joist Tape
Clean and dry the surface, ensuring joists are
debris-free.

Apply to ledger board and deck joists, wrap
ends of joists with Rot Shield.

Roll over the entire surface using a hand
roller, smoothing the tape and boosting the
bond of adhesive to joist surface

Use guideline text marked at 1¼” from each
edge of tape to place Rot Shield on joists, with
the text aligned to joist corners

Complete job, laying deck boards. Rot
Shield Joist Tape is brown so will
camouflage well beneath deck boards.
6.
Pull split release liner to halfway point and
adhere one side, smoothing by hand, then pull
the remaining 2” of the liner and hand-smooth
tape to joist.
