Mounting and connection
Refer to the information in section “Preparation for mounting”!
Ensure that no existing cables or pipes (including water pipes) are damaged when drilling
mounting holes or securing screws.
The light may not be operated using a dimmer.
Unscrew the two grub screws (top and bottom) (2) with the
included hex wrench.
Carefully pull the wall bracket (4) out of the light.
10 mm
6 mm
Remove the outer insulation on the wires to a maximum
length of about 16 mm.
Strip the insulation on each of the three wires on the mains
cable to a length of about 6 mm.
The protective earth cable (yellow-green) should be at least
6 mm longer so that it remains the last cable in the terminal
strip in the event of a mishap.
Carefully cut out a hole in the rubber gasket in the wall
bracket.
Push the stripped mains cable through the rubber gasket in
the wall bracket from the wall side.
Use the holes in the wall bracket as a template to mark the
xing points on the surface.
Drill the mounting holes, if necessary.
Secure the wall bracket with two screws and, if necessary,
dowels. Depending on the surface, special screws and
dowels are required.
(Item no. 1646406 includes two additional rubber rings that
can be placed under the screw head.)
Connect the 3 wires on the mains cable to the 3-pole screw
terminal (brown wire= L/phase, blue wire = N/neutral wire,
yellow/green wire = PE/earth wire/earth symbol ).
Also check the other screw connections on the terminal strip
and tighten them if necessary.
Screw the terminal strip rmly back into place.
If necessary, use a suitable sealing agent (such as silicone)
for sealing between the mains cable and the rubber gasket
from the inside.
Item no. 1646406:
Set the motion detector. See the chapter “Motion detector
(PIR) setting".
Place the lamp on the wall bracket. Ensure that the gasket (5)
is attached properly.
Fasten the lamp with the grub screws (top and bottom).
Turn on power to the circuit and check to see if the product works.
If the LEDs do not light up, turn off power to the circuit immediately (turn off circuit breaker and/
or automatic fuse). Then check the connection to the main circuit.
Motion detector (PIR) setting
The integrated PIR sensor reacts to changes in temperature within the detection zone. For example, this
would happen when a person or animal whose temperature is different from the ambient temperature enters
the detection zone.
The motion detector is adjusted in the lamp interior. Plan a test phase with the help of a
specialist, e.g. during the night to nd the appropriate settings.
During the test phase, the specialist who is familiar with the necessary safety measures can make the
settings in the lamp interior.
This process requires that all necessary safety measures are complied with during the test
phase.
While settings are being made, the main cable must be voltage-free.
Set the sensor as follows:
Switch off power to the mains cable. Check that the mains cable is isolated from the mains, e.g. with an
appropriate testing device.
Loosen the lamp from the wall bracket and remove it.
Loosen the insert by removing the four screws. Remove the insert to reveal the shaft. See gure below.

Use a suitable slotted screwdriver to carefully turn the set screws:
Setting Function Procedure
Brightness Sensor responds only up to
the set brightness.
Turn the set screw toward
to decrease and
toward
to increase the brightness (lux).
Off-time Once the specied off-time
elapses, the light switches off.
Turn the set screw
toward + to lengthen and
toward to shorten the off-time (see "Technical
Data").
Check the sensor behaviour after reconnecting power to the product. If necessary, repeat the setting
procedure.
Warning! The current must not be switched on if there is no proper ground connection!
Once you have made the settings, screw the insert rmly back into place and return the lamp to the wall
bracket. Ensure that the gasket is attached properly.
Care and cleaning
Turn off mains voltage to the light (or disconnect it from the mains) and let it cool down sufciently.
Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these may damage the
casing or cause the product to malfunction.
Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product. To remove stubborn dirt, moisten the cloth slightly with water.
Never direct a garden hose or pressure washer etc. at the product.
Do not wear metallic or conductive jewellery such as necklaces, bracelets or rings when carrying out
maintenance work on the product (including cleaning).
Keep the motion detector (Item no. 1646406) clean to ensure proper functioning.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste.
Always dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory regulations.
That way you full your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment!
