Cleaning and Storage
Storage Tips
CAUTION
Starting the engine during the storage period will disturb the
protective film created by fogging and damage could occur . Never
start the engine during the storage period.
Clean the Exterior
Make necessary repairs and then clean the ATV thoroughly with mild
soap and warm water to remove all dirt and grime. Don’t use harsh
detergents or high pressure washers. Some detergents deteriorate rubber
parts. Use dish s oap type cleaners only. High pressure washers may
force water past seals.
Stabilize the Fuel
1. Add Polaris Carbon Clean Fuel Treatment or Polaris Fuel
Stabilizer to both tanks. Follow the instructions on the containe r for
the r ecomme nded amount.
NOTE: Carbon Clean will also reduce the possibility of bacterial growth
in the fuel system.
2. Fill the fuel tanks.
3. Operate the engine for 15-20 minutes to disperse the stabiliz er
through the fuel in the tank and c arbure tor .
4. Switch tanks and operate for a n additional 5-10 minutes.
5. T urn the fuel va lve of f.
6. Drain the carbure tor bowl.
Air Filter / Air Box
Inspe ct and clea n or r eplac e the pre-c leane r a nd air filter. Clea n the a ir
box and drain the sediment tube.
Breather Filter
Inspect and clean or replace the breather filter.
