FOOT PEDALS
BRAKE PEDAL
Depress the brake pedal
q
to slow or stop the vehicle. Apply the brakes while
starting the engine.
When the brake pedal is depressed, the brake light comes on. Check the brake
light before each ride.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Apply the brakes. The brake light should come on after about 10 mm (0.4 in.)
of pedal travel.
ACCELERATOR PEDAL
The accelerator pedal
w
will function only when the key is ON and the direction
selector switch is set to either forward or reverse. To begin moving or to increase
vehicle speed, gradually push the accelerator pedal toward the floor. Holding the
accelerator pedal down continuously will accelerate the vehicle to the maximum
speed.
To slow the vehicle, release the accelerator pedal. Electric motor braking
provides braking when the pedal is released. For additional speed control or to
stop the vehicle, apply the service brakes.
