OPERATION
Driving with a Passenger
1. Perform the pre-ride inspection. See page 25.
2. Make sure any passenger is at least 12 years of age and tall enough to comfortably and
safely sit in a passenger seat with the seat belt secured, put both feet on the floor and
grasp the hand hold.
3. Make sure all passengers are wearing helmet, eye protection, gloves, long-sleeve shirt,
long pants and over-the-ankle boots.
4. Make sure your passenger secures the seat belt.
5. Make sure all cab nets are properly secured.
6. Never carry more than one passenger in this vehicle. Never allow a passenger to ride in
the cargo box. Allow a passenger to ride only in a passenger seat.
7. Slow down. Always travel at a speed appropriate for your skills, your passenger’s skills,
and operating conditions. Avoid unexpected or aggressive maneuvers that could cause
discomfort or injury to a passenger.
8. Vehicle handling may change with a passenger and/or cargo on board. Allow more time
and distance for braking.
9. Always follow all operating guidelines as outlined on safety labels and in this manual.
Driving in Reverse
Follow these precautions when operating
in reverse:
1. Always check for obstacles or people
behind the vehicle. Always inspect left
and right fields of vision before back-
ing.
2. Always avoid backing downhill.
3. Back slowly.
4. Apply the brakes lightly for stopping.
5. Avoid turning at sharp angles.
6. Never open the throttle suddenly.
