7. Drain the recoil housing.

9. Add Polaris Premium Storage
Stabilizer to the fuel tank.
10. Cover the ATV with a canvas
cover. Do not use plastic or
coated materials since they do
not allow ventilation of the ve-
hicle.
Transporting
Whenever the ATV is to be transported the following measures should be taken.
1. Turnthefuelvalvetooff.
2. Be certain the fuel cap and oil cap are installed c orrectly.
3. Always tie the frame of the ATV to the transporting unit securely using suitable
straps or rope.
4. Always place the transmission in gear and lock the parking brake.
Carburetor Adjust ments
Ifthe vehicle is to be operated at variousaltitudesandtemperatures,certainadjust-
ments can be made to improve its operation and driveability. Above 6000 feet
(1800m)theengineair/fuelmixture becomes overly rich. An engineloses approxi-
mately 3% ofits power foreach 1000 foot(304.8 m)increaseinelevation. Although
this power cannot be regained, changes to the carburetor and drive system can
be made to allow efficient operation. These changes include:
1. Carburetor re-jetting to compensate for altitude and/or temperature changes.
2. Transmission convertor modification to adjustfor engine horsepower loss dur-
ing high altitude operation. Contact your dealer.
3. On 2 cyclemodels,airscrewadjustments can be made to compensate fortem-
perature c hanges and/or changes in altitude.
4. On 4 cycle models, pilot screw adjustments c an be made to compensate for
temperature changes and/or changes in altitude.
NOTE: Contact your dealer for altitude adjustments. They have the training and
special tools required to perform all necessary modifications for y ou.
