2. THE ALL-IN-ONE TRAINING SYSTEM
Training Computer Parts
With an integrated GPS unit, the Polar RC3 GPS training computer provides the
following data in all outdoor sports using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology:
speed
distance
altitude
ascent
descent
route information (at polarpersonaltrainer.com web service)
There are at least 24 active GPS satellites orbiting around the earth. The signals that
GPS satellites transmit to the earth indicate the location of the satellites. The training
computer receives the signals and determines your location by measuring the
distance between itself and the satellites.
The training computer combines the signals from at least four satellites to get a
reliable speed, distance and location reading. To calculate the altitude, the training
computer requires a minimum of six satellite signals.
Connect the training computer to your computer with a USB cable to charge the
battery and to transfer data between the training computer and the
polarpersonaltrainer.com web service.
