INSTALLATION PROCEduRE
1. Loosen all eleven (11) body mount bolts.
Removethethreebody mount bolts on the
outside of the frame between the front and
rearaxles,onthedriver’ssideoftheJeep.
2. Raise the driver side ofthebodywithaoor
jackandextension.Besuretopositionthe
jackpadatornearabodysupporttoavoid
damagetothebodytub.Thereisatriangular
section between the rst and second body
mountthatisanidealspottolocatethejack
pad. Liftthebodyuntila1/2”gap appears
between the body and the body mount
bushing.
3. Slide the Rocker into position with the
Spyderlogotowardstherearofthetub.Itis
notnecessarytoremovethebodymountsor
bodymountbolts.TheRockerwillbelocated
betweenthesteelbodymountoutriggerand
theupperrubberbodybushingasshownin
Figure1.

If you have a body lift, the body lift puck
shouldbe located between theRockerand
the steel body mount outrigger, with the
upper bushing above the Rocker, between
theRockerandthebodytub.
4. Press the rocker against theverticalsurface
ofthebodytubandclampitintoplace.
5. Gently lower the body backdown.Maintain
thecorrectpositioningoftheRockerasyou
lowerthebodyandplaceitsweightontothe
Rocker.Paycloseattentiontothetopedge
oftheRockerinrelationtothedooropening.
6. With the body lowered, check for tment
oftheRockeragainstthe body tub. Adjust
either end of the Rocker until level and
aligned.
7. Use the ne-tip felt marker to mark the 5
holes along the top edge of the Rocker.
Use the Rocker itself as your template to
markthedrillholesinthebody,throughthe
countersunkboltholesintheRocker.
8. Re-liftthebodyandremovetheRocker.
9. Carefullycheckthebackside/insideofthe
Jeep’s rocker panel area, for wiring or any
other obstructions that are located where
youwillbedrillingmountingholes.Remove
orrelocateobstructionsasnecessary.
10.Use an auto-punch or center punch with
hammertolightlypunch the center of each
holemarkyoujustmade.
11. Use a drill motor with3/16”bittodrillapilot
holeateachcenterpunch.Thenstepupto
the3/8”bittonish-drilleachholetoitsnal
size. Drill carefully, as thin sheetmetal will
tendtosnagand/ordeformifnotcareful.
12.De-burrtheholeswitharat-tailleorburr
knife. Use touch-up paint or clear-coat to
protect the bare metal edges of the drilled
holesfromfuturerust.
13. Slide the Rocker back intoplace.Installthe
suppliedstainlesssteelatheadcapscrews
withatwashersandnyloninsertlocknuts
ateachofthe5countersunkholelocations
alongthetopoftheRocker,throughtheholes
youjustdrilledinthesideoftheJeepbody.
Leaveall hardware loose (nottightened) at
thistime.
14. Lower the body back down. Perform
any minor adjustments to the position of
the Rocker, then tighten all5 at head cap
screws and locknuts. Lightly tighten the
threebodymountboltsbutleavethemloose
enoughtoraisetheoppositesideofthebody
duringinstalloftheotherRocker.Torquethe
atheadcapscrewsto20ft./lbs.
15.Repeat the procedure for the passenger
sideRocker.
16. Tighten all 11 body mountboltsandtorque
to50ft./lbs.
Be sure to periodically re-check all hardware as
part of your routine maintenance checks.
