After I have my permits and all the approvals, what are the steps to
building my house?
Please note, that building using a steel frame structure is simpler, as they come pre-assembled in
frame kits that are straight and true to precision. The difference between the steel frame and the
wood frame – is that there are pre-drilled holes within the frame kit structure to make life easier
for your plumber and electrical contractor. Steel Frames are assembled using screws, tie downs
and brackets (as supplied for steel frame structures). Traditional wood framing results in on average
20% wastage, mostly assembled on site using nails and wood securing brackets and the plumber
and electrician needs to drill out holes etc.
Typical steps to building:
1. Prepare Construction Site (Foundation)
2. Erect your steel frame structure
3. Apply structural sheathing to the frame
4. Apply House Wrap on top the external sheathing.
5. Fit windows and doors to the rough openings
6. Lock up stage completed
7. Complete Rough Plumbing, Electrical HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning) or other
A/c systems or other smart technologies, solar etc.
8. Install Insulation
