Where can I find trusted contractors to assist with my construction
project?
We have an in-house consultant, who can connect you with and organise general contractors all
over the USA familiar with Steel Frame construction and consult with assisting you through the
whole process, from the start to the finish, including your material list and estimated costings. The
Plus1 team has a range of additional services offering varying levels of support in helping you
complete your project to your budget and time frame as best as possible.
The Home Depot have a Pro Referral program, which also may have contractors available to you
locally, for your project.
Plus 1 home kits can also assist by speaking with your chosen contractor and providing the material
lists, and time lines on construction so they can give you a close estimate on costings.
Where are your steel frames manufactured?
All our steel frame kits for all our product ranges are all manufactured in the USA, using American
steel.
All our steel frame kits and delivered all throughout the USA.
Why do you use steel frames over timber?
We use steel frames in our kits for a number of reasons, it’s lightweight and extremely strong,
won’t burn, is termite and borer proof and won’t shrink, twist or warp like a conventional timber
frame.
Both steel and wood are strong materials, yet steel is less vulnerable to damage due to weather or
bugs. Weather and moisture can cause wood to mould, rot and crack. Furthermore, steel does not
expand or shrink over time or with exposure to moisture
With wood when you are framing up a house, there is more wastage of up to 25% costing you more
money, as it takes more time and cost to make the house plumb. By using our steel frames, these
are cut and pre-assembled in panels to precise measurements.
Working with steel frames also allows us to produce designs with more innovative designs to suit
local environmental challenges than other materials. This gives our customers more flexibility in
design choices and often results in a less expensive build cost.
Our frames are designed in-house using the latest and most advanced CAD systems. As a result,
there is little or no waste in the manufacturing process (less waste, better for the environment,
better for your budget). We can offer you “supply only in kit form, where you will receive a frame
