Installation Instructions:
Tools Required:
- Needle nose pliers or strainer wrench (if cross bars are present in existing drain)
- If cross bars are not present, a tub drain extractor tool may be needed
- Sealant
1. Remove grid retaining screw from old drain.
2. Remove strainer grid plate from old drain.
3. If the cross bars in the tub drain are present, remove old drain from tub using needle nose
pliers or a strainer wrench inserted into the cross bars of the drain. If the cross bars are no
longer present, an expanding drain key extractor tool may be needed to remove the drain.
4. Remove grid plate from new tub drain by removing the center screw and lifting off plate.
5. Drain comes with 1-1/2" coarse thread bushing installed. Test thread the new drain. If it
fits, move onto instruction 7.
6. If new drain does not fit into existing tub drain, remove plastic bushing by twisting off to
reveal smaller threads.
7. Place sealant on underside of the flange of the new tub drain.
(Do not use plumbers putty on marble or plastic surfaces, instead use silicone sealant).
8. Thread new tub drain into tub drain shoe by using needle nose pliers or a strainer wrench.
9. Wipe off any excess sealant with a clean towel.
10. Re-install grid plate onto new tub drain.
Care Instructions:
To clean, wipe with a soft damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners,
steel wool, and harsh chemicals as these may damage the finish.
