Troubleshooting
If a faucet installation doesn’t deliver water properly or leaks, finding the cause and fixing it can be easy.
Uneven
water flow.
Aerator assembly
(14) is dirty or
improperly installed
Problem: Cause: Action:
Loosen the aerator
with a wrench. Use
a cloth to protect the
finish.
Remove the aerator
by turning it counter-
clockwise.
Remove any loose
dirt or debris from
the aerator assembly.
Replace the aerator
on the faucet. Wrench
tighten by turning
it clockwise.
Water leaks
from under-
neath the
handle (3).
Damaged or loose
cam locknut (5).
Problem: Cause: Action:
Remove the hot/cold
button (1) from the
handle (3).
Using a screwdriver,
loosen the handle
screw (2), turning
counter-clockwise.
Remove the handle
(3) from the faucet.
Using a faucet repair
tool, tighten the cam
locknut (5) by turning
clockwise. If no tool
is available any flat
edge will also work.
Water leaks
from supply
lines (not
included).
Damaged or worn
water supply lines
or loose supply
line connections.
Problem: Cause: Action:
Check the water supply line connections
at the shut-off valve and the faucet shank
for any leaks.
Tighten the nuts slightly on the supply
lines with a wrench by turning them clock-
wise. Don’t overtighten any supply line
connections. NEVER install used supply lines
when installing a new faucet. ALWAYS use
new supply lines.
