Troubleshooting
If a faucet installation doesn’t deliver water properly or leaks, finding the cause and fixing it can be easy.
Uneven or
low water flow.
Aerator assembly
is dirty or improperly
installed.
Problem: Cause: Action:
Locate the notches
on the side of the
aerator. The notches
will allow you to
remove the aerator
without damaging it.
Place an adjustable
wrench over the
notches.Remove the
aerator by turning it
counterclockwise.
Remove any loose
dirt or debris from
the aerator assembly.
Re-attach the aerator
on the faucet. Wrench
tighten by turning
it clockwise.
Water leaks
from under-
neath the
handle body.
Improper cartridge
installation or worn
0-ring seals.
Problem: Cause: Action:
Remove the handle
cover from the handle
by prying it up with
your fingers. A screw
driver may help. Be
careful not to damage
the finish.
Remove the handle
screw by turning it
counter-clockwise.
Remove the faucet
handle
Remove the cartridge
nut and pull the
cartridge straight up
from the waterway.
Check for worn
o-rings or washers.
Re-install the cartridge
back into the waterway.
Water leaks
from supply
lines (not
included).
Damaged or worn
water supply lines
or loose supply
line connections.
Problem: Cause: Action:
Check the water supply line connections
at the shut-off valve and the faucet shank
for any leaks.
Tighten the nuts slightly on the supply
lines with a wrench by turning them clock-
wise. Don’t overtighten any supply line
connections. NEVER install used supply lines
when installing a new faucet. ALWAYS use
new supply lines.
