1. Adding the Sense to your
Plugwise network
Ì StartSourceandselectSengs,AddModules.
Ì When you are asked to select a network, select the network to
whichtheSensemustbeadded.
Ì FillintheIDoftheSense.ThisIDisindicatedonthesckersthatare
aachedtotheback.
Ì Click thebuonwith thegreen arrow: Next,inserttheAA
baeryintheSense.Notethe+and-marks.
Ì IfyouwanttoinstallmulpleSenses,addtheIDsforalloftheSenses
tothelist.ThePlugwisenetworkwillthensearchfortheSenseswiththe
newIDsinthelist.WaitunlSourceindicatesthattheSenseisonline.
Thecirclewiththequesonmarkwillthenchangeintothefollowing
icon:
If the Sense is not found within several minutes, check whether the Plugwise
network is operang correctly (refer to ‘Before you start’). If the Sck and
the other modules are available in Source and the Sense is sll not shown
as being online, follow the instrucons to delete the network sengs under
‘Delete network sengs’, see: ‘Advanced use’.
Ì Click‘Next’andthen‘Finish.
Ì TheSenseisnowconnectedtoyournetwork.
2. Attaching the Sense to the wall

Ì TaketheSensetothelocaonwhereitmustbeinstalled.Thismust
bewithin5to10metresofaCircle.
Ì CheckwhetherSourcesllindicatesthattheSenseisonline.Itcan
takeseveralminutesforthenetworktoprocessthenewlocaonofthe
Sense.
Ì Aach the Sense mounng plate to the wall. The Up/
Window arrow on the inside of the mounng plate indicates
the top. Ensure that the Plugwise logo on the front ends
up in a horizontal posion (see the corresponding gure).
TheopmalheightoftheSenseis1.50to1.80metresabovetheoor.
Inaddion,the Sensemustnotbeinstalledindirectsunlight,above
a centralheaterand preferablynotnearadoororwindow.Thiscan
negavelyimpactthefunconingoftheSense.
Ì Whenthemounngplateisaachedtothewall,slidetheSense
fromaboveontotheplateunlyoufeeltheSenseclickintoplace.
3. Use
Communicaon in the network
The Sense contacts one of the Circles in your network. This Circle
transmitsthemeasurementdatatotheotherCircles.IftheCirclethat
theSensetriestocontactisunavailable,aconneconwillbemadewith
anotherCircle.Thiscantakeseveralseconds.
Themeintervalbetweentwotransmissionsofmeasurementdatacan
bespecied.Asstandard,theSenseissettoatransmissionintervalof
15minutes.
Thecomputerdoesnotneedtobeswitchedontobeabletousethe
Sense.
Switching and insight
TheSensecanbesetuptosendswitchcommandsifcertaintemperature
orair-humidityvaluesare exceeded:an OnorO command canbe
senttoappliancesorlighngspeciedinadvancewithinthePlugwise
network.Whiledoingso,theSensedoesnottakeintoaccountother
switching acons in the network, such as those from the Plugwise
Switch or Plugwise Source. As standard, switching acons from the
Senseareswitchedo.ItisnotrecommendedtousetheSenseasa
thermostat.
